Jane is a Senior Lecturer at the City Law School and Coach at Inspire Law Global
  • Coach

Jane is a Senior Lecturer at the City Law School, joining in the early days of the Legal Practice Course after a career in private practice, undertaking family and private client work. After a break doing other things, she returned 8 years ago, teaching a range of subjects including Private Client, Litigation, Interviewing and Advising and Property.  She is a non-practising solicitor (England and Wales) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Her passion for student wellbeing has led to her spearheading many exciting initiatives in her role as Associate Dean for Student Experience. These included many partnerships with firms, chambers and organisations to provide opportunities for students to be mentored and inspired. She was delighted to have City recognised by the Bar Council with a certificate of recognition, for efforts made to improve the mental health and wellbeing of all our students and staff. She has also been a key member of the group working towards the University Mental Health Charter. Jane is a regular volunteer with LawCare and an active member of the University of coaching network.

Jane’s recent career has been very focused on creating environments where learners feel empowered, engaged, and confident in who they are becoming. This year she led and taught a mentoring and coaching module for final year Law Students with a firm belief in the transformational power of both and is currently walking the talk herself by undertaking her ILM Level 7 coaching qualification.  Her mission? To help students become the best version of themselves (and maybe even enjoy the process along the way).

Outside of work, you’ll usually find her on a long walk with her three Labradors, navigating the beautiful chaos of life with two teenagers, and sharing laughs with her endlessly patient husband.

Client Testimonial

“Partnering with Inspire Law Global aligns with our commitment to improving ethnic diversity and social mobility across the legal profession. As part of this ongoing partnership, we prioritised building a more inclusive and representative pipeline at our early careers level.

Our partnership with Inspire Law Global has enabled us to expand our reach utilising their extensive network, improved the diversity and quality of our trainee pipeline, and introduced us to individuals who are not only well-prepared and commercially aware but also deeply aligned with our values.

We've already seen great success with several candidates. Lauren Wilkins will be joining our Oxford office as a trainee in 2026, and Lary Owereh will begin his training contract in our London office this September. We were also pleased to welcome back Morgan Edwards as a legal assistant in November 2024 and Elikem Katro in the same role in January 2025.”

Student Success Stories

  • The Inspire programme has given me a multitude of opportunities such as placements within top 100 firms and exclusive sessions with talented lawyers. I have completed assessments each week which has given me ample examples to use within interviews for placements and training contracts, a valuable resource. Amongst all the amazing opportunities provided is a team which supports and encourages every single individual on this programme. From application guidance to general inquiries I am always met with a friendly face. I couldn’t express how much this program has allowed me to progress not only my legal journey but my confidence

    Lucy Martin

  • My journey with ILG has been a rollercoaster but has been the most enjoyable and reflective time. This programme has helped me in every aspect of my growth not only in my legal career but also as a person. From rejections to being able to be accepted to vacation schemes with the help of the team has helped me more than imaginable. Being able to take part in the Moore Barlow vacation scheme was a growth experience. My experience with Moore Barlow taught me that being a solicitor is not only about how to produce high-quality work but also about remembering to include your values in everything you do, as this will help you to be shaped into the best solicitor you can be. The experience to immerse myself in the legal atmosphere was so vital to me as this helped me understand how my studying to become a solicitor will be put into practice.

    Rachel Adeboye

  • I decided to join ILG Lawyers because I wanted to gain further insight into commercial law and learn from different legal professionals on how to navigate the training contract application process. Before ILG, my search for a legal training contract was often frustrating as I didn’t consistently progress to the latter stages of an application process when applying for dozens of firms. My experience with ILG helped me become more confident when tackling application questions and presenting myself well in interviews. Furthermore, ILG has helped me grow in helping me understand the importance of having a personal brand in the workplace.

    Renell Harding

  • My time at Inspire Law Global thus far has been insightful, encouraging and a real drive forward in my legal career. The skills I have been taught are unique and valuable, setting me apart from other law and non-law students. The recent vacation scheme I secured at Moore Barlow evidences this, as well as the vast opportunities available through the programme.
